Entry-Level Loss Prevention Associate

Security guards are responsible for monitoring access to company premises, and ensuring against incidents, such as theft or violence. Important duties include patrolling and inspecting property in order to monitor for fire, theft, vandalism, or any criminal activity, monitoring access to the buildings and the company premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, and responding to alarms or calls for service. Security guards may also perform secure activities, such as handling cash. • Patrol property .
• Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points
• Monitor surveillance equipment
• Monitor access to the buildings and the company premises
• Ensure alarm systems, doors, and windows are all secure and properly working
• Respond to alarms or calls for service
• Apprehend or detain individuals who pose a threat to security
• Perform secure activities, such as handling cash
• Interview witnesses and testify in court, as needed

• Working knowledge of public safety and security principles
• Working knowledge of the laws and regulations that govern the security field
• Ability to react and respond quickly and effectively in urgent situations
• Ability to exercise good judgment in potentially dangerous situations
• Ability to exercise quick and critical thinking skills
• Excellent oral communication skills
• Ability to work well independently and with others

• High school diploma or its equivalent
